The red thread of destiny is referred to in Chinese legend as a string tied between people who are meant to be together through time. I know it's hard to understand how we might love a little girl we haven't even met yet, but the simple explanation is, she is ours. We are waiting for her, every day, and every day counts. We are STILL waiting on an update of pictures and a few questions about our sweet girl, so I thought I'd put into a few words the way my mind wanders just about every morning. It's different than the wondering about a baby yet to be born, because she's here, developing and being cared for somewhere that we cannot be yet.
Wandering Through Wonderings
Are you warm enough?
Are you fed enough?
Are you spunky or super tough?
What does your laugh sound like?
Do you use it often?
How many teeth do you have?
Do you drool a lot?
Who holds you when you're distraught?
Do you cry when you are sick?
Can you make a funny face?
Do you get a warm embrace, at least
once a day?
What was your first word?
Was it even heard?
Do you know who waits for you?
Who prays for you?
Who cries for you?
Oh baby girl, if you only knew.
Soon.
